Thanks to the support of our members and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Association of State Wetland Managers (ASWM) revised its website and launched this site in April 2011. The content on the original ASWM website is no longer available. If you are looking for something from the old site and cannot find it on this site, please contact us. It is very likely that the information is available on this site, but organized differently.

What's new? We have added an user-specific section for policy-makers and legislators, landowners and local government, wetland educators and concerned citizens. The overall website still aims to assist wetland program managers. Some webpages are under construction and we'll be adding to them over the next several months in 2011. Use the search bar to find a specific topic (keep search terms brief). Along the top menu bar, click on "NEWS" to get the latest wetland-related news, or just below that for the most recent issue of "Wetland Breaking News." Hot topics such as climate change and Clean Water Act have a short-cut link from the slide show (at right). If you have any difficulty using this site, please contact us. ASWM has moved its website to a new server.  The site is now hosted using Joomla! 1.5, an open-source web development tool that allows ASWM to focus more on writing webpages and creating content.  A lot has changed with the new website: A new look, a new format, a new organization of our content, but we have made every effort to keep the content that regular visitors to aswm.org have come to depend on.  For those who are veterans of our old website, we've put together a list of tips for finding the content you're looking for, as well as some highlights of the new features of our website.

The new website offers ASWM many useful new features:

Individual-level user logins: Members of ASWM, as well as members of our work groups and state wetland managers, will be given personalized login information. This will allow us to produce higher quality content for our members as well as maintain mailing lists with greater accuracy and ease of maintenance.

• Dynamic Content: Webpages on aswm.org are now generated ad-hoc depending upon the particular requests of each user.  This allows us to put information on the web faster, and update pages that aggregate information from multiple aswm.org pages automatically.
• Modular Design: ASWM can add or remove content, widgets, and features very quickly.

For those of you who are looking for something in particular, there are a number of ways to find it:

1. We encourage you to explore the new site.  We've worked very hard to ensure that it is easy to use and that content you are looking for is readily available.
2. In the top right of every page you will find a small box that says "Search..."  You may enter terms that reflect the content you are looking for and press enter to begin a search. Currently the Search function is not working well but we're working to fix this.
3. Many subcategories have a similar box above a list of articles that says 'Filter.'  Entering terms in here will isolate articles within that section whose titles have the words you enter into the filter field.

If all else fails, you may visit the old website until September 30th, 2011.

If you have a link for the old site and are trying to make it work change the portion of the link between "http://" and the next "/" (It will either say 'aswm.org' or 'www.aswm.org') and adjust it to 'old.aswm.org'.  For example, if you had a link that said "http://aswm.org/foo/bar.html" the new link would be "http://old.aswm.org/foo/bar.html".  If the old link was "http://www.aswm.org/stuff/things/item.html" then your new link would be "http://old.aswm.org/stuff/things/item.html".
