Thursday, 14 June 2012 01:00

EPA Region 1 (New England) is hosting a Climate Ready Estuaries New England Regional Workshop on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at its regional office in Boston, Massachusetts.  The objectives of the workshop are to: (1) learn about ongoing and completed Climate Ready Estuaries projects by the six National Estuary Programs in New England; (2) discuss lessons learned, including successes and challenges of various projects; (3) discuss efforts to disseminate and share those lessons; and (4) share ideas for replicating successful projects, including approaches and methodologies, elsewhere.  There also will be discussion about how National Estuary Programs are incorporating those lessons learned and other climate adaptation practices into their revised, updated Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plans, and their annual grant work plans.  EPA expects attendance by a broad cross section of agencies and organizations throughout New England working on climate adaptation.  The EPA Climate Ready Estuaries Program will be producing a "New England Climate Ready Estuaries Lessons Learned" brochure as a follow-up to the workshop.  For more information about the Climate Ready Estuaries program, click here.
