The Washington Department of Ecology (Ecology) has approved the City of Carnation’s updated shoreline master program. Carnation’s shoreline program will result in significant improvements in the protection, use, development and restoration along two miles of shorelines and the water quality of the Snoqualmie and Tolt Rivers within the city. Carnation Mayor Jim Berger said: “We are looking forward to having a shoreline master program that updates our 1974 SMP that we can use to preserve and protect our valuable resources while also preserving property rights and protecting recreation.” The revised master program combines local plans for future shoreline development and preservation with new shoreline development ordinances and related permitting requirements.
