The Chronicle - June 12, 2012State senators in North Carolina voted to approve a measure (HB 819) prohibiting state officials from considering projections of accelerated sea-level rise when creating rules for housing developments and other infrastructure projects. The legislation requires North Carolina's Coastal Resources Commission to use only historical measurements of sea-level rise in planning decisions. The bill awaits consideration in the North Carolina House of Representatives and must be approved by the House and signed by the Governor to become law. For full story, click here.
