I was appalled to read Bill Maxwell's column on Gov. Rick Scott's egregious actions to circumvent Florida's Department of Environmental Protection regulations for his high-powered friends. Scott's removal of DEP's wetlands expert, Connie Bersok, after she denied the wetland permit for Highlands Ranch and the multibillion-dollar hedge fund, the Carlyle Group, is simply disgusting.
