By Chris Keeley – Clean Air, Cool Planet – September 2011

This report is one of a series dealing with different aspects of community climate preparedness developed and published by Clean Air-Cool Planet as part of our Northeast Climate Preparedness Initiative (NECPI). CA-CP’s NECPI is a multi-year effort to strengthen the capacity of local governments, the private sector, NGOs, and the science community to work together to improve community resilience and quality of life and address, in particular, the issues that arise from a changing climate. These may include sea-level rise, more intense precipitation, or in some cases drought, public and veterinary health issues associated with higher temperatures, among others.
