The cooler spring weather slowed mosquito reproduction a little bit. However, all the rain in the metro is helping them multiply quickly. "What we're going to see here in the next week or two in the metro area is a few adult mosquitoes popping up," Jim Stark, executive director of the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District, said. Stark says his organization has already treated 60,000 acres of wetlands to keep mosquitoes from hatching. That number could go up as high as 250,000 acres or more by the end of the summer depending on the weather. For news story, click here.
