by Leah Stetson, MPhil HE, Association of State Wetland Managers (June 2007)

Four states currently have active programs that recognize wetland delineators.  Of these four states, three certify wetland delineators and a fourth state has begun a pilot program to assure delineators' work.  Several other states are in the early stages of developing a certification program for delineators.  Learn more about these programs in the above PDF file.

New Complete Wetlands Delineation Datapoint Management System Available

by Wetland Studies Solutions, Inc.

This website is a complete wetlands delineation datapoint management system, developed for wetlands professionals using the new 1987 manual supplements, that makes it easy to store delineation project and datapoint information and produce data forms for submittal to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE).  Tedious tasks such as calculating dominant species and a prevalence index are completely automated, and results can be downloaded as a Word document - ready to be printed and sent to the U.S. Corps of Engineers.  Use of the site during this beta trial will be completely free.  This trial period will last until at least December 31st, 2010.  After that, users will be charged a nominal fee each time they download a completed data form.  To join the trial, visit the website and follow the links to create a new account.
